Britney Spears Concert halted over smoke

Britney Spears left her Vancouver fans up in the air last night after quitting the stage without explanation in true celebrity style. Half an hour after the stage went dark an announcer finally told the crowd ‘Please extinguish all cigarettes – this is a non-smoking building, and the show will resume when the smoke on the stage is cleared.’ Apparently the smoke had been upsetting crew members. Britney did not need to pump her songs out, though – she lip-synched all her hits last night, as she has done at all the gigs on the Circus tour.

When she came back on stage Britney had changed into a silver dress to sing her debut hit single “Hit Me Baby One More Time”. More costume changes followed before the finale concluded a one-hour set. Brit’s parting shot was ‘Thank you Vancouver, you guys have a wonderful night. Drive safe, don’t smoke weed.’
