Fashion wars – Celebrity couple at No. 10

Finally President Obama’s first visit to London has begun.  The first couple touched down at Stansted on Tuesday night and made the 30 mile journey  to central London by helicopter.  On arrival the first couple looked fresh and relaxed: they had changed into different outfits during the flight. barack Obama wore one of his trademark Hartmarx suits in navy with a blue tie and white shirt. Michelle wore a white dress as she left the States, and a shiny yellow dress with a black coat for her arrival in England.

For the breakfast meeting at Number 10, Mrs Obama wore a fresh looking outfit of white sequinned cardigan teamed with a pale greeny- blue metallic skirt, both from J Crew. Shiny patterned shoes completed the spring look – she must have checked the weather forecast! By contrast, Sarah Brown was dressed for winter in a navy wool dress and thick blue tights that reminded me of the kind of lisle stockings that old ladies used to wear.  The weather in London has been set fair for several days now and I’m surprised to see Sarah in such a dowdy outfit.  When you see the two of them together it is clear that bothe have good figures and Mrs Brown could look so much better.  Trinny and Susannah, Gok Wan or even Myleene Klass should do their patriotic duty and help style Sarah Brown!
