Lanvin London opening attracts star names

Samantha Cameron, wife of  Conservative leader David Cameron, has appeared in public for the first time since the death of her six year old son Ivan four weeks ago.  The occasion was the opening of a new shop by French fashion house Lanvin in London’s Mayfair. Mrs Cameron, pictured here with model Jasmine Guinness, is sales director for the upmarket suppliers of luxury stationery and leatherbound diaries to the Queen, Smythson of Bond Street.

There were three parties in all, hosted by Lanvin’s chief designer Alber Elbaz. The first two – women only – took the form of intimate salon presentations for just 50 guests at each.  The collection  was modelled along with commentary from Alber. Then there was ths normal showbiz bash, with invited celebrities ensuring their pictures were taken at the entrance and during the party.  Famous faces included supermodel Yasmin Le Bon, singer and male style icon Bryan Ferry, artist Dinos Chapman, designer Zandra Rhodes, photographer Juergen Teller, designer Marc Newson, milliner Stephen Jones and Kate Moss’ ex lover, Jefferson Hack.  Yasmin le Bon, whose daughter Amber le Bon is now a hot property in the modelling world, wore a silk asymmetric dress in sari fabric.
